Samlingssted ved Moseby

In December 2020, a 60 sqm lunch shelter/barbecue hut was built by Jetsmark Lokalråd in collaboration with Moseby Borgerforening. Inside the campfire hut, there is a fire pit and a grill table, as well as tables and benches. You must bring your own firewood. In the area by the hut, an old tip-wagon train is exhibited, which was used to transport peat from the bog to the briquette factory. This is the starting point for several marked hiking routes into the bog, where there are still countless visible depressions from peat excavation. The area is preserved as nature. History: A couple of centuries ago, farmers and common folk began excavating the extensive bog areas in Sydvestvendsyssel. Since then, and until the middle of the last century, peat excavated from here has been commonly used as fuel. The peat excavation itself followed old custom: 6-7 fods wide and 4-6 favns long.
