Avnø

Avnø is a former military flight school, but now the entire area is designated as a bird sanctuary, and the buildings house a nature center and nature school. Avnø’s total area primarily consists of salt marshes with diverse birdlife. Which species you can experience depends on the season. During the birds’ breeding season, access is only permitted on the trails. Are you coming in a wheelchair, with a stroller, or a walker? A gravel path, a total of 600 meters from the nature center across the meadows directly to the fjord, provides a unique opportunity to spot seals. Additionally, there is an accessible viewpoint by the coast. There is also a ramp at the entrance to the exhibition and toilets.
