Høgdal forest is a small, varied forest with both deciduous and coniferous trees. The forest is best known for the old Skovgård Høgdal, which is located within the forest. Høgdal farm is run as a living open-air museum by Silkeborg municipality. Therefore, the area around Høgdal farm and its fields is not covered by the free tenting scheme. The rules for free tenting must be observed.
