Pletten.

Pletten is unavailable from June 4th - June 7th, 2026, due to FDF Summer Camps. The FDF Grindhøj area offers 2 brand new shelters for 4-5 people; the shelters are free to use. A composting toilet is available. The area is located on the outskirts of Grenaa within a small forest close to the beach and 800 meters from the Djurslandsstien hiking trail. If you are quiet in the evening and morning hours, there is a chance to see fallow deer, foxes, and bats. The composting toilet is locked, but signs indicate how to get the code for the composting toilet. There is no drinking water at Pletten, but Rema 1000 is less than 600 meters from the area. You may collect firewood from the forest floor, but trees must not be felled.

Shelter site at FDF Grindhøj – Overnight stay in nature close to town On the edge of Grenaa, hidden in a small forest close to the beach, you will find FDF Grindhøj’s cozy shelter site “Pletten”. Here are two brand new shelters, each with room for 4-5 people – and they are free to use. Facilities: 2 shelters with room for overnight stays Composting toilet (locked – see signs on site for opening) Possibility to collect firewood from the forest floor (felling prohibited) Close to Rema 1000 (under 600 meters) 800 meters to Djurslandsstien (hiking trail) Nature around: The area is peaceful, especially in the early morning hours and in the evening. Here, there is a good chance to experience wildlife such as fallow deer, foxes, and bats. This makes the place perfect for overnight stays, nature experiences, and outdoor education. Practical info: There is no drinking water at the site, so remember to bring your own water or provisions – Rema 1000 is within walking distance. The composting toilet is locked, but it is clearly signposted how to get the code. The shelters cannot be booked, and FDF Grindhøj has first right to the area. Every Monday evening there are FDF activities at the site. Cars cannot drive to the site; parking is referred to børnehave Stjernehuset on Skolebakken, 8500 Grenaa, from which it is 200 meters to Pletten.
