About this spot
In the area, there is an extensive system of hiking and cycling paths, shelter sites, and opportunities for launching canoes and kayaks. There are excellent viewpoints where the landscape and birdlife can be observed from the birdwatching towers. There is also a dog meadow near Skjern town. Most activities are tied to the path systems, as the majority of the area is fenced and grazed by cattle and horses, which means access to certain areas may be limited. Out in the delta, you can try sailing with pull ferries and experience the rich birdlife that the river delta hosts. The area is nature-managed by large herds of cattle, horses, sheep, and goats to improve living conditions, especially for wading and meadow birds. The area houses two nature exhibitions that, among other things, tell about life in the meadows and life in the river. In case of rain and high water levels, the paths may become impassable.
