About this spot
The primitive overnight site with two shelters is located in a small depression with a view of a small wetland and trees that shield it from Helsingevejen. The shelters are accessible and can accommodate 4-6 people each. At the site, you will find two campfire sites, one with a low fire ring and the other with a high fire ring, which can shield against flames and sparks when you are near the fire, e.g., in a wheelchair. There is a picnic table set at the site, whose benches are half as long as the table, so you can sit there both with or without a wheelchair. There is good access to the shelters and a parking lot nearby. The site is located next to a campsite with a campfire site and picnic tables in the adjacent “hollow,” which is shielded by an earth mound. You must bring your own water and firewood. It is permitted to collect branches from the forest floor for firewood, but trees must not be felled. The shelter site must be left tidy, and all waste must be taken out of the forest. Remember to extinguish the fire before leaving the shelter site! You can find the shelter site with these GPS coordinates: 55.976484, 12.295767. The shelter was built with support from A.P. Møller Fonden.
