Smedsmo-dammen! At Smedsmo Camping, there is a nice swimming area that is open to everyone! Safe and considerate swimming in nature: A dip in a tarn, mountain lake, or river is a fantastic part of the trip – but nature also requires us to show consideration. Here are some simple rules for safe and sustainable swimming: Never swim alone. Even calm waters can hide surprises. Always swim with someone, so you are there for each other if something happens. There can be much stronger currents than it appears. Be careful. Check the bottom before you jump in – there might be stones, branches, or sudden deep spots. Feel the temperature, and enter slowly. Practice Leave No Trace. Take everything you brought with you – towels, trash, and clothes. Do not trample vegetation or damage the nature around the swimming spot. Be considerate of others. Share the swimming spot with a smile and respect. Avoid loud music and noise, and show consideration for wildlife and other hikers.
