About this spot
Veslefjellbua is beautifully situated on Venabygdsfjellet. The cabin is a great hiking destination all year round and is particularly well-suited for families with children, as it is only 2 km to the cabin from the nearest parking lot. The cabin was built in 2019 and replaced Gråhøgbu, which was unfavorably located relative to the wild reindeer in the area. Gråhøgbu has been dismantled and moved to Maihaugen open-air museum in Lillehammer. Opening hours: The cabin is open all year, except for when it is closed during the wild reindeer calving season from April 10th (or the first weekday after Easter if it falls later) until June 18th.
