Skoaddejávre is located in the middle of the Narvik mountains along the Nordkalottruta, E1, and Grensesømmen. Skoaddejávre consists of a large cabin with 10 beds and a small emergency shelter with two beds. The cabin is located on the northeast shore of Skoaddejávri, approximately 800 meters north/northwest of Border Cairn 256b. It often happens that there is fog in the area, and then the cabin can be difficult to find. There is no mobile coverage at the cabin, but if you ascend 120 vertical meters towards Juovvacorru, which is east of the cabins, there is Telenor coverage. Booking and payment: At this cabin, you book bed by bed. The cabin is locked with a standard DNT key. The key can be purchased at Sparebanken Narvik, Visit Narvik, and Sportcentret, among others. Sportcentret offers good member benefits. You can also order the key from the DNT store. Firewood in the mountains is very expensive and labor-intensive - it is not allowed to use firewood for outdoor bonfires. Take your own garbage home! The roads on Skjomfjellet / Narvikfjellene lead to several of DNT Narvik’s cabins. The roads are open to public traffic in the period approximately 1/6-1/10. The dates are not certain, but are based on ordinary seasonal conditions. The roads are owned and operated by the energy company Statkraft. Commercial use of DNT Narvik’s cabins: All businesses and commercial operators who bring guests and groups to DNT Narvik’s cabins must contact DNT Narvik well in advance of each trip to arrange this. There are separate prices for commercial groups. Prices are independent of whether individuals are members or not. ALL guests in the group must be registered in the visitor protocol. NB!
