About this spot

SEE VIDEO FROM SVARTSKOGKOIA HERE. Svartskogkoia is a pleasant log cabin with painted paneling inside. LOCATION: Svartskogkoia is located in Mosjømarka in Løten municipality. The cabin is situated along Rondanestien. EQUIPMENT: New from June 2026; Beds have duvets, pillows, and blankets, but everyone must use their own sleeping sheet or bedding (pillowcase, duvet cover, and sheet). The cabin is equipped with mattresses, blankets, a solar power system, propane, cooking equipment, and tableware. There are 8 beds distributed in 2 rooms. There is a well behind the cabin, an outhouse, and a woodshed. At this cabin, in addition to the two main rooms, there is a separate unlocked room that day visitors can use. ACTIVITIES: In Mosjømarka, there are many marked trails to idyllic tarns and pine moors. DOG: You can bring a dog to all HHT cabins. There is a dog cage in the right room, so we hope dog owners can use this. We ask dog owners to be considerate of any other visitors. BOOKING AND PAYMENT: At HHT cabins, all beds can be pre-booked, but hikers who have not booked may arrive. If you have not pre-booked and paid in advance, you can pay with the DNT app. Pay for accommodation in the DNT app: At self-serviced and unserviced DNT cabins, you can easily register and pay for accommodation in the DNT app. Remember to download the app before you go on your trip! The app also works without coverage. For best offline function, you should open the app before the trip. Read more at dnt.no: https://www.dnt.no/hyttebetaling. The cabin is locked with a DNT key. Remember that at least one person in the group must be a member to deposit for a key. If you have a DNT key, you cannot be turned away from the cabin. Welcome to our cabins! See our cabin prices here. Become a DNT member here. HISTORY: The cabin is owned by Løiten Almenning and managed by Hamar og Hedemarken Turistforening (HHT), Løten district. When the cabin was built around 1940, there was dense, old, and coarse spruce forest in the area, hence the name. Svartskogkoia has two rooms, a larger one for forest workers and a smaller one for the forest ranger and his assistants. The cabin was renovated in 2002/03.
