About this spot
The day-trip cabin in Høyanger kommune is called Synkenhytta and is located at approximately 600 meters above sea level, at the end of Bergsvatnet on Høyangerfjellet. The cabin has a 12V solar panel with a battery pack, and a 230V inverter/converter. You can thus charge your phone and have lights and heating on. Information about lights/heating can be found in the cabin guestbook; it is important that you read the information provided there. In the cabin you will also find a Nynorsk hiking library, maps, and other information. Right by the cabin there is an outhouse. Shoes must be removed inside. There is a carpet on the floor and good felted slippers that can be borrowed. The day-trip cabin is a low-threshold offer for hikers - a place to eat their packed lunch, get a bit of warmth, and browse books. Each cabin has a Nynorsk hiking library with many different books. The project is a collaboration between Sogn og Fjordane fylkeskommune, Sparebankstiftinga / Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane, and the municipalities themselves. Read more: Website dagsturhytta.no.
