About this spot

Unlocked rest/emergency cabin 20 m from Venelitjørni (700 masl). Venelitjørni is shallow and suitable for swimming. Introduced trout is a challenge for anglers. About the cabin. Venelibu was officially opened in 2014. The cabin has tables and benches with sleeping space for 2-4 people; sleeping pads should be brought. As the pictures show, there are good opportunities for cooking and picnicking just outside the cabin. You are welcome to stay overnight in the cabin, but Venelibu is an emergency cabin and must always be open to everyone. There is a toll fee on the road to Bendiksmyr - NOK 70 which can be paid in cash at the toll booth or via Vipps. Most people take about 1/2 hour from the parking lot at Bendiksmyr. Contact person: Aud Eli, tel. 402 15 248. Veneli as a hiking area. Fantastic natural area. Everyone gives the offering top marks, regarding natural landscape, experience qualities, and degree of facilitation, where the standard-marked and moderately demanding and alternative hiking trails, Venelibu, and the summit of Venelifjellet are what most people are interested in. The easily accessible Venelifjellet is known for its fine and wide view, where in clear weather one can see both the Telemark coast, Gaustatoppen, and parts of Hardangervidda, and of course most of the immediate surroundings. The success factors are primarily easy access, moderate difficulty, well-marked, signposted, and alternative hiking trails, a beautiful and family-friendly landscape with the possibility of a summit hike or a child-friendly cozy trip to Venelibu, possibly with an included overnight stay, and with swimming and/or fishing in Venelitjønna nearby.
