Hamborgstrømpaviljongen

Hamborgstrømpaviljongen is a stately cabin located in Bragernesåsen, above Drammen city center. The cabin can be rented for overnight stays via pre-booking in DNT cabin booking. It states that the cabin is locked with a special key, but it is more accurate to say that there is a code lock to open the cabin. You will receive the code by email upon pre-booking the cabin. LOCATION: Hamborgstrømpaviljongen is a short walk from Drammen city center, strategically located in Hamborgstrømskogen in Bragernesåsen. If you come by car or bus, it is most natural to get off/park by Sturla huset in Underlia. From here, it’s about an 800m walk on a gravel road to Hamborgstrømpaviljongen. EQUIPMENT: The cabin has 5 sleeping places distributed in one bedroom with a family bunk bed, plus two bed benches in the living room (bedding in the bench underneath). There are duvets and pillows in the beds. All guests must bring their own cover or sleeping sheet. The cabin has a well-equipped kitchen with tableware for about 12 people, and otherwise everything you need to prepare and serve food. There are detergents, buckets, and cloths for dishwashing and cleaning after use. Dining table, fireplace, and cozy corner in the living room. The cabin has electricity. Firewood is in the outdoor shed on the terrace, only for use inside the cabin. If you want to light a fire outside, you must bring your own firewood for this. WATER: Hand pump for water on the outside of the cabin (frost-proof). NOTE! This is not drinking water, so drinking water must be brought. PRACTICAL USE AND CLEANING OF THE CABIN 1. Crockery and cutlery are washed with dish soap and hot water. Preferably pour boiling water over the dishes at the end and let them air dry. Clean the wash basin after use with boiling water. 2. Dining table is washed with soap and water after use. 3. Final cleaning upon departure: Thoroughly clean the kitchen, all contact surfaces, toilet, and floors. Make the beds. Clean the kitchen, including the dish brush, with soapy water. Clean the kitchen before cleaning other areas. Rinse floor cloths and rags well after use and hang to dry. Cloths are replaced regularly. 4. Remember trash bags. Clean the outside of the trash can if visibly soiled. Take trash home with you. DOGS: There are no facilities for dogs inside the cabin. BOOKING: The cabin is rented out in its entirety only and must be pre-booked. You have access to the cabin from 2 PM on the day of arrival until 1 PM on the day of departure. The cabin is locked with a code lock; the code will be sent via SMS after the booking is confirmed. ACTIVITIES: Outside the cabin there is a Tarzan trail, nature trail, fire pit (remember the fire ban from April 15th - September 15th), outdoor seating areas, benches, and some tent pitches. The outrun of an old ski jump is good for sledding. The entire Hamborgstrømskogen has a large network of trails, and this is the very gateway to Finnemarka where you can hike for days. There is a small lean-to for overnight stays right by the cabin. There you must bring a sleeping pad and sleeping bag. There are also some tent pitches by the cabin.
