Welcome to Vestfoldmarka’s finest hiking trails. At Heia, one can feel the calm and experience the silence. Where time slows down a bit, and you can just be, together with nature. Hiking trails lie before you, taking you to both scenic peaks and the inner forest where the tarn lies still. Campsites are available on the property. If you are a member, you can purchase a DNT key and have access to firewood and a toilet. We also have a boathouse where you can unlock a canoe for use on Heivannet. This offer applies to all DNT members and is separate from renting the cabin. Feel free to check out the lean-to shelter on the property. The cabin is rented out in its entirety – not individual beds. Dogs are not allowed in our cabins. In Vestre Kodal, you will find most of DNT Sandefjord’s blue-marked trails. The cabin is named Heisetra and can be recommended for companies/seminars or family events. The cabin is furnished with everything needed for cooking and hosting groups of up to 25 people. Check-in 3:00 PM Check-out 1:00 PM Location and parking Vestfoldmarka is a paradise for those who enjoy forests, heights, and small lakes. Heisetra is located approx. 250 m from Heivannet lake in Sandefjord municipality. There is a parking space approx. 200 m from the cabin. It is requested that everyone uses the parking lot instead of driving down to the cabin. Only one car may be permitted to park in the cabin yard. The reason is that both snowplows and emergency vehicles must be able to pass if needed. Responsibility when renting a cabin Our cabin supervisor will perform an inspection after rental. In case of insufficient cleaning or need for tidying, etc., an additional cost will be charged to the renter, sent by email with pictures showing the discrepancies. Equipment and facilities, Heisetra The cabin contains a wardrobe with a drying cabinet for clothes, two living rooms with a total capacity for twenty-five people, a kitchen, a laundry room (no shower), a toilet, and an accessible toilet. Three bedrooms with a total of ten sleeping places, one of which consists of a double bunk bed, both upper and lower. One room with two single bunk beds and one room with a single bunk bed. All beds are equipped with bed linen. The customer brings their own bed linen or sleeping sheet/liner. Sleeping bags are not permitted. Fifteen low beds with mattresses in the loft with bed linen, consisting of sheets, duvets, and pillows. You should bring your own pillowcase, even if you are using a sleeping sheet/liner. Visitors must bring their own sleeping sheet/liner or bed linen. It is not permitted to use a sleeping bag. Outside the cabin, there is a spacious terrace. There are barbecue and campfire sites. Firewood is fetched from the woodshed. Barbecue charcoal, lighter fluid, and firelighters must be brought by yourself. The cabin has running drinking water, and heating is provided by electricity, wood burning, and a heat pump. There is always a basic temperature of approx. 17 degrees Celsius. To increase the heat, one must use the wood stove. The cabin is adapted for disabled people as a day-trip cabin. The cabin is equipped with a projector - speaker and screen. There is mobile coverage via Telenor. The kitchen is equipped with a stove and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchenware, and crockery for approx. 30 people. There are no provisions at the cabin. A dining room with space for 20 people and a living room with seating for 25 people. The living room has a clean-burning wood stove. Firewood is stored in a separate woodshed locked with a DNT standard lock. We have never had cases of bed bugs at our cabins. By taking some preventive measures, it is therefore not permitted to use sleeping bags in the beds. You must only use clean bed linen or a clean sleeping sheet/liner. Dogs It is not permitted to bring dogs into the cabins. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area. We have a bowl where your dog can drink water. Booking/Reservation Adapted for school classes Inside the cabin, there is a good selection of various games and 30 copies of DNT’s hiking songbook. This is available to everyone who rents the cabin. The cabin is partially adapted for disabled people. Here it is possible to borrow a rowboat or canoe. The lean-to shelter is adapted with a pathway where you can drive all the way into the lean-to shelter. By opening two hatches equipped with dampening pumps, these can be opened to provide shelter. Driving to the cabin is permitted for baggage transport. It is not desired that cars are parked on the property, but this has been agreed upon. It must always be accessible for emergency vehicles to pass. For companies The cabin is adapted for this with technical equipment such as a projector with speakers and a screen. You bring your own PC. There is Telenor mobile coverage in the area. You arrange your own food and drinks. Winter activities When the weather permits and there is enough snow, ski tracks of approx. 15 km will be groomed. These are family-friendly ski trails. Here there will be space for you as a ski hiker. For you with a dog. You are also welcome to use the hiking area with your dog. Follow us on Skisporet.no. Here you can see when the ski trails were last groomed. There is no waste collection in the area. Therefore, we ask everyone to take their trash home. Leash laws apply, as everywhere else. Show consideration for the wild animals. Especially when there is a lot of snow. Do not let your dog loose in the forest. Example: A Friday-Sunday stay must be cancelled by 11:59 PM on the preceding Sunday at the latest. Cancellation later than 5 days before the arrival date does not entitle you to a refund.
