Eldsbu - dagsturhytta i Alver kommune

The great day-trip cabin Eldsbu is located right by the summit cairn on Eldsfjellet, the largest mountain massif in the outer part of Alver municipality. Here you have panoramic views of mountains, sea, and sunsets! The cabin has a small wood stove, a library with Nynorsk children’s books, and benches inside and outside. Here it is nice to eat your packed lunch and take a good break. It is not permitted to stay overnight in the cabin. Leave the cabin as you wish to find it, clean and tidy. Take your rubbish, bottles, etc. home with you. Trail description to the cabin: The trail starts directly north of the motocross track at Rossland. See a small sign by the roadside. The hike goes steeply upwards until you get above the tree line. It then flattens out somewhat, before becoming steep again at the end. You will reach the summit cairn at 324 meters above sea level. There you will see the day-trip cabin. Follow approx. 100 meters to the northeast and you have arrived. The trip up to Eldsfjellet is frequently used, but the marking is limited. Pay close attention as parts of the trip go over rocks/cliffs. In the forest sections, it is steep. The surface can be slippery. Be extra careful with heavy rainfall and snow.
