Bessheim Fjellstue og Hytter

Bessheim is located right next to Besseggen in Jotunheimen. The ski season lasts from the beginning of February until May 10th each year. After Easter, we are open for long weekends and weekends. The hiking season starts around June 10th and lasts until the beginning of October. The Gjende boat starts transporting passengers to hike Besseggen concurrently with our opening in June. Centrally located by county road 51, we have, since 1890, lodged and served mountain hikers and travelers along the National Tourist Route over Valdresflya. Here at Bessheim, we have rooms, rental cabins, apartments, a campsite, and food service. Bessheim Fjellstue og Hytter gives a 5% discount to DNT members on rooms without a private bathroom. Bessheim Fjellstue og Hytter is located east in Jotunheimen right next to national road 51 over Valdresflye. Bessheim is located 5 km from the pier at Gjende. Bessheim has 27 rooms inside the mountain lodge. All rooms have made-up beds, and most of them have a private bathroom with shower and toilet. You will find 27 cabins and apartments around the mountain lodge. These vary in size and standard. Most of the cabins and rooms have a shower and toilet. There are duvets and pillows in the cabins and apartments, so guests must bring their own covers. Alternatively, you can rent covers. Nice tent site down by Øvre Sjodalsvatn. Every evening, we serve a three-course dinner. In the morning, we have a breakfast buffet where guests can make their own packed lunch to take on their trip. It always pays to book directly with Bessheim. We have online booking. NB: On weekends at the end of August and throughout September, we only accept bookings for full weekends.
