The Aoou reserve is an artificial reservoir 10 km east of Métsovo. On 07/04/2012, we stayed there for two nights. Excellent, calm, and restful. The shepherd (sheepfold just before) is very friendly; he speaks Greek, Italian, German, and a little French and English. To access it, ask for Lake Pigon Aoou, follow the signs on the road, and turn at the SPRINGS AOOU sign. The lake is 5 km away. At 1700 m altitude, in a dream setting, this is the ideal place for those who like solitude. You will also see storks there!
