About this spot
Renovated car park at Auberge du Maillet, at the entrance to the Cirque de Troumouse. It is located near the national park (overnight parking further down the road is prohibited). The large upper car park can accommodate around 40 motorhomes. Grandiose site. Very calm, except for the cows nearby (the parking lot is surrounded by wires preventing them from accessing vehicles). Garbage bins are available in the car park. Toilets are accessible behind the Auberge du Maillet (for clients of the refuge, it is therefore appropriate to consume a minimum) and hot showers. The road toll has disappeared, the road is therefore accessible free of charge. On the other hand, the road is closed to traffic beyond the Auberge du Maillet from 8 AM to 7 PM. To get from the car park to the Troumouse cirque, you have to take a “shuttle,” made up of 3 wagons pulled by a tractor, which goes up every 55 minutes. Road closed in winter, at the tollgate.
