About this spot
The overnight accommodation site is open to everyone for both overnight stays and campfire activities. Use and stay are free of charge. The shelters can be booked by organized groups of 15 people or more via this link: https://udinaturen.dk/shelter/142854/. Here you can also see if the shelters are booked by others. If the shelters are not booked, the first-come, first-served principle applies. Booking the shelters means you have priority specifically for the shelters - not for the entire site, which others are also welcome to use while you are here. It is good shelter etiquette to make space for others in the shelter if possible. If you have booked the shelters and have not occupied them before 8 PM, the priority right expires, and others may use them. You are welcome to pitch a tent on the site within the area marked with a railing. You are welcome to light a fire at existing campfire sites. You may collect wood for the fire in the surrounding forest and thicket. Remember to check for any fire bans. Extinguish the fire thoroughly after use, leaving no embers, or stay until the fire has completely burned out. It is not permitted to play loud music or create other noise that disturbs animals and other people. Take your waste with you when you leave the site. A primitive toilet is located by the road, and a water tap will be established in spring 2025. The existing old water tap is not functional. Car park: Drive to Hammersøvej 2A. You will find a large car park by Opalsøen and Hammersø. From there, you can walk 50m to the shelter site, which has the address Hammersøvej 15. The area is grazed by a herd of calm Galloway cattle that tend to the nature and keep it open. The area around the shelters is fenced off. The shelter was built with support from the A.P. Møller Foundation.
