Volunteers from the local community St. Merløse have created an attractive gathering place in the middle of the village over the past 3-4 years. With support from Holbæk Kommune, LAG Midt-Nordvestsjælland, Friluftsrådet, Lokale- og Anlægsfonden, the local school and local associations, Sjællandsske Medier A/S, private donors, and volunteer labor, an attractive outdoor environment has been established with opportunities for social gatherings, overnight stays in shelters and coziness in the fire hut, exercise and activity on the skate park, parkour area, and senior fitness area, play on the hill, slide, and carousel, etc. All surrounded by plantings of willow, apple and cherry trees, fruit bushes and trees, as well as walking or running on paths. The site is open 24/7. It is free to use the area and stay overnight in shelters. Overnight stays cannot be booked. Motorized driving is not permitted, and it is expected that you clean up after yourself.
