About this spot

The shelter site is part of the project “from working forest to experience forest”. The project is owned by Naur and Sir parish council, and its purpose is to open the plantation, which is owned by the parish council, to the public. In 2024, a very nice site was established with a fire hut for 28 people, 2 shelters accommodating approx. 8 people, and a toilet. There is no water or electricity at the site. There is water for flushing in the toilet. The place offers views over Storådalen. Alongside the site, a 4-meter high observation tower has been erected. There is a good deal of birdlife at the site. Together with the fire hut and shelters, a marked hiking route has been established from Sir Lyngbjerg/Krunderup to Hedeskoven. Maps of the route can be found at Sir Lyngbjerg, Naur Kirke, and by Bålhytten. The route is approximately 20 km as a round trip. It can be divided starting from Naur Kirke, making it approx. 10 km.
