About this spot
Close to the town of Vemmelev, between Slagelse and Korsør, lies Bakkely forest, totaling 62 hectares. The forest is laid out as a mosaic of planted and open areas, and is primarily planted with various deciduous tree species. The forest is home to a very active user group, Vemmelev Skovlav; which organizes education and experiences in the forest, and which operates the green community center “Skovstuen”, which is housed in a former farm building at Bakkelygård, centrally located in the new forest. Agreements on borrowing Skovstuen are made with Skovlavet via the association’s website, Vemmelev Skovlav. In the forest, there are also marked riding trails, an open-air stage, etc., as well as shelters, which can be booked via www.naturstyrelsens.dk.
