About this spot
The areas for Vigsø Plantage were acquired over a longer period, starting during World War II. Vigsø Plantage is located on a partially sand-covered ice age island and, additionally, primarily to the east on the plains below, which are raised Stone Age seabed. The ice age island, which has good growing conditions, has a very prominent coastal cliff to the east. To the west, Vigsø Plantage has Dansk Folkeferie’s holiday center “Vigsø Bugt” as its neighbor. One of the hiking routes from the “Hanstholmen” brochure goes around this part of the plantation. At Hjardemålvej, there is a parking lot with tables and benches, which can also be used as a starting point for the aforementioned hiking route. A primitive overnight accommodation with a shelter can be found at Vigsø Bugt.
