Hvinanden shelter

The shelter must be booked. The site consists of a smaller shelter and a fireplace with a bench. It is permitted to pitch two tents (max. 3 persons) in immediate proximity to the shelter, max. 10 meters away. You must bring your own water and firewood. However, it is permitted to collect dead branches from the forest floor, but trees must not be cut down. Remember to take your rubbish with you and extinguish the fire before leaving the site. Directions by car: The parking lot on Gillelejevej, Hjorteljungsvej is less than 2 km away from the shelter. It is not permitted to drive cars in the forest, but the forest roads are suitable for bicycles and pedestrians. Directions by public transport: You can get off the bus in Esbønderup at Tingbakken stop and walk approx. 3km, through forest and along a lake, to the shelter. You can also get off the bus at Skovskolen in Nødebo and walk along Esrum Sø. A trip of approx. 4 km.
