Nysø

Address: Roustvej 106, 6800 Varde. Nysø is a gravel pit lake in Varde Søndre Plantage. It is located about 5 km south of Varde. The water is clean, and swimming in the lake is permitted. Floating barriers are used to mark the safest swimming area. Please note that gravel pit lakes can be dangerous to swim in, as they can suddenly become very deep and the water very cold. Dogs are not allowed to swim in the lake, but southwest of Nysø there is a small lake where dog swimming is permitted.
