Fejsø Plantage is located on Denmark’s largest hill island, surrounded by large moors in a very desolate region. In the area, you may freely pitch your tent according to the current rules for free tenting – read more here: https://naturstyrelsen.dk/naturoplevelser/overnatning/fri-teltning/. The plantation is covered with conifers but with small clearings and tracks where you can pitch a tent. The hilly landscape is due to inland dunes, which are particularly visible on the open moors that the area borders. There are good opportunities to experience large herds of red deer in the area.
