About this spot
Free tenting in a dune plantation near Svinkløv. The plantation was designated as an untouched forest in 2019. Svinkløv Plantage has great biodiversity due to the varying soil types. This is especially visible in the vegetation, ranging from the windswept mountain pine to the tall-stemmed coniferous forest and the lush deciduous forest in the ravines. In the southern part of the plantation, there is still a remnant of very large Sitka spruces, up to 35 meters tall, from the 1880s. In the forest floor, several plant species are found that normally belong in Nordic coniferous forests, including the orchids Hjertebladet Fliglæbe and Knærod. Roe deer are often seen, and red deer are occasionally encountered. Read more about free tenting on: Naturstyrelsen’s website and udinaturen.dk
