About this spot
The spot has 2 shelters with space for 4 (5) people in each. There is 100 m to a toilet and water (which will be available during the summer half of the year). The nearest shopping opportunities are in Søndersø. In Glavendruplunden, there are two Bronze Age burial mounds (Flinthøj and Rævehøj) and several different memorial stones, as well as one of Denmark’s most impressive Viking Age ship settings, with the Glavendrup stone standing at the west end. The Glavendrup stone has Denmark’s longest runic inscription of 210 runes and is definitely worth a visit. In Glavendruplunden, there is also a larger grill hut with tables and benches, located right next to the shelter area. In the local area, there is also the large burial mound Torshøj and the beautiful Dallund Slot by Dallund sø. A clover path runs from Glavendruplunden with many different sights and stories – the trip is approximately 16 km. Follow the small signs. The grove is also home to the annual Viking market with many different participants and exciting stalls/workshops. The market is held on the first weekend of September. Shelters are booked via “link to website” below. We look forward to seeing you, Skamby og Omegns Borgerforening.
