Experiences and attractions nearby: The shelter site is located in connection with Marskstien – a 54 km hiking trail that runs through the entire Tøndermarsken. There are 3 Marskshelter sites with rotatable shelters along Marskstien. The other two are located in Sønderhaven in Møgeltønder and at Lægan Pumpestation. The shelter site is a few minutes’ walk from Emmerlev Klev, which is located on the gesten. From the cliff, one has a fantastic view of the Wadden Sea National Park and UNESCO World Heritage site. In the other direction lies Højer, where there are opportunities for grocery shopping. In Højer, you will also find Højer Mølle – the Gateway to Tøndermarsken – with an exhibition about the area’s unique nature, building traditions, history, and landscape.
