About this spot
The shelter site at Saltofte Strand is part of the Blå Støttepunkter (Blue Support Points) shelter concept, where you can stay overnight in new, modern, coastal shelters all the way around Fyn. The 2-person shelter is located by the water - and the water is worth jumping into. Assens Municipality’s bathing water quality control shows it to be top-rated. The shelter must be booked at www.bookenshelter.dk, and it costs 30 DKK/person/night. If there is firewood in the woodshed, you are welcome to use it in limited quantities. It costs 20 DKK, which can be paid via MobilePay No. 878 119. Firewood is only provided occasionally, so if you want to be sure to light a fire, bring your own firewood. Naturally, no trees or bushes may be cut or trimmed on the site. There is a composting toilet at the parking lot 200 m north of the shelter (open 1/5 to 30/9). South of the site, Sønderby Klint towers 30 m towards the sky. The area is geologically interesting, and the special cliff environment also means there are many rare flowers here. It is quite deep almost all the way to the cliff – perfect for sea trout.
