Vilsted Sø, Holmen

Here are 2 shelters and a compost toilet. We have set up tables/benches which can also be used if you are a wheelchair user. Shelter no. 1 can be booked, the other is used on a “first-come, first-served” basis. If booked, you must occupy the campsite before 8 PM, otherwise your priority right lapses. Each shelter can accommodate 3 people, and overnight stays are limited to a maximum of 2 nights. There is a beautiful view over the lake and to the observation tower. Tent and shelter site for sailors with access from Vilsted Sø and a hauling-out spot by the lake at 515276 E, 6304718 N by the accessible fishing spot, approx. 350 m via asphalt road to the site. Access from Limfjorden via Bjørnsholm Å; but only in the period 23/6-31/12. The site is located by Sjørupvej. You get to the site from the road between Overlade and Vilsted. The nearest parking (P5) is at Sjørupvej 34, 9681 Ranum. The shelter was built with support from A.P. Møller Fonden. Accessible toilets are available at Kajakhuset (P8) and Ranum Søhus (P2). Vilsted Sø is owned by Aage V. Jensens fonde and managed by Naturstyrelsen, Himmerland. Vilsted Sø, approx. 450 hectares, was established in 2006.
