Shelterplads i Grevinge Skov

In Grevinge Skov, there is a shelter with a fire pit and a grill. The shelter is located in a forest clearing where a house previously stood. The shelter has space for approx. four people. The shelter must be booked, which can be done up to three months in advance, and for a maximum of two nights at a time. The shelter is located in a ‘free camping’ forest, meaning tents may be pitched next to the shelter and elsewhere in the forest. For tent pitching, the rules are that it is only permitted to stay one night in the same spot, a maximum of two tents may be pitched in the same spot, and tents must accommodate a maximum of three people. There is no water tap at the shelter. There is a small, primitive toilet without running water approx. 30 meters from the shelter. This toilet is the only one in the forest. You must bring your own toilet paper. You must also bring your own firewood. Fires are only permitted in the officially established fire pit in front of the shelter. When arriving by car, the nearest parking lot is on Birketvej right when entering Grevinge Skov from the south. From there, it’s approx. 200 meters from the parking lot to the shelter site via a gravel path or trampled trail. The shelter is also connected to the regional cycling route Gravhøjsruten. Access to the shelter is via a gravel road, grass, and dirt path. The shelter is designed with a transfer platform for wheelchair users, but the wheelchair must be off-road capable to reach the shelter. There are no trash bins at the shelters or the fire hut, so whatever you bring on your trip, you must also take home. The shelter was built with support from the A.P. Møller Foundation.
