About this spot
Sønderskov, spanning almost 105 hectares, is part of the forests around Aabenraa. To the north, the forest borders residential areas and is separated from Vestermark by Tøndervej. To the southeast, the forest is separated from Årup forest by Sønderskovvej. Sønderskov has extremely steep and hilly terrain with many ravines and small streams. In several places in the forest, there are fine views of the town and fjord. There is parking for the forest at Rugkobbel and at Sønderhesselvej. Close to the parking lot on Sønderhesselvej, there is a primitive overnight accommodation with a shelter and barbecue area.
