Shelterplads i Tranbjerg Skov

The shelter belongs to Aarhus Kommune and is booked via Book Naturen. Come out and experience how a new forest creates space for everyday adventures. In Tranbjerg Skov, a shelter site was established in the winter of 2020 near a small lake that also functions as a rainwater basin. Aarhus Kommune wanted to provide an opportunity to experience how the water level changes throughout the season. The location was therefore carefully chosen. For the same reason, the shelter site has two campfire sites – one between the two shelter units, which is always dry, and one campfire site in front of the shelter units, which can be flooded during wet periods. Practical information: • If you have booked the shelters, you have automatically booked the associated campfire site. • You must bring your own firewood from home. • You are allowed to collect dry branches from the forest floor. • Remember to extinguish the fire before leaving the site. • You must take your trash home with you, so remember trash bags. • There is no water or toilet near the site.
