About this spot
The forest has been there for a long time, and children have always been welcome. Now we call it a children’s forest, as it is really good for children – and their parents and grandparents. There are different types of forest where one can play and enjoy themselves. You may build dens, play tag, find ants, flowers, run off the paths, and eat your packed lunch in peace and quiet. The children’s forest was created in collaboration with local institutions and volunteers and is therefore very different from the 5 other children’s forests in Viborg Municipality. In the children’s forest in Bruunshåb/Viborg, you can find: A packed lunch house with an attached shelter, a freestanding shelter, a fire pit with grill grate – remember to bring your own firewood and water, a toilet, a wheel of fortune with activity inspiration, an equipment bank with campfire gear and investigation equipment – information on access to the equipment bank can be found on the cabinet, an entrance portal with inspiration from children’s drawings from a kickoff event, a site-specific map table, an information sign about life in the children’s forest, and wooden figures made by Wood Artist Søren Brynjolff. The facilities can be used by anyone passing by. If you are a larger group, such as a class or family birthday, you can book the forest and have first priority to the facilities. Write to [email protected] – however, you should be prepared that others passing by the forest are also welcome to move around in the forest. We hope that together you can find a way to be there.
