Handikapegnet shelter - Lodbjerg Fyr

The site is located northwest of Lodbjerg Fyr. From the parking lot at Lodbjergfyr, a smooth path covered with stone dust leads down to the shelter site. The site can be accessed on foot or by bicycle. The shelter is located 120 m from the parking lot at the lighthouse. Facilities at the site: campfire site with grill grate, waste bin, horse paddock, composting toilet, and a regular toilet at the lighthouse, which is open all year. Water can be collected from a water tap at the lighthouse, and is available all year. The shelter has a lift installed, making it easy for those with walking difficulties to get in and out of the shelter with help from fellow hikers. All it requires is that you bring your own carrier chair, which can be attached to the lift’s two hooks. Note: Remember your own harness. The shelter can be booked 3 months in advance. It is possible to pitch tents at the site, and there is space for approx. 14 people for camping. The booking gives priority to the shelter, while the rest of the site and other facilities must be shared with other users. Individuals can use the shelter if it is not booked. If the booking is not utilized by 8 PM, the campsite can be freely used on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis. The shelter was created in collaboration with Nationalpark Thy.
