Shelters ved Julsø

Two shelters at the campsite located by the beach at Julsø. One shelter (to the right of the bridge at the site, with lake view, picnic tables, etc.) can be booked in advance on this page; the other shelter (to the left of the bridge) can be used on a “first-come, first-served” basis. There is space for approximately six overnight guests in each shelter. There are picnic tables, a fire pit, a grill, and waste bins. There is no drinking water, and no firewood is supplied for the fire pits. Wood must be brought or gathered in small quantities from the forest floor. It is not permitted to saw or break branches from the trees. Hiking trails: The ‘Aarhus-Silkeborg’ hiking trail and ‘Himmelbjergruten’ (red route) pass close by the site. The ‘Lynghedeturen’ round trip goes from Himmelbjergtårnet and the P1 parking lot at Himmelbjerget past the site. Water route: The ferry boats dock at Hotel Julsø. From there, it’s about a 1 km walk to the site. There is a small jetty at the site. No car access to the site. The nearest parking is at the end of Julsøvej. Follow the arrows to Hotel Julsø. It’s about an 800 m walk from the parking lot to the shelter site on a gravel road. The last 100 m are on a trodden path.
