Svinget

If you are a local and prepared for a longer drive, you can often have the fishing all to yourself if you choose “Svinget” (The Bend). On its way eastward, the road from Randers towards Udbyhøj makes a sharp turn. Where the asphalt road turns 90 degrees left, instead turn 90 degrees right onto a long and narrow gravel road. If you continue far enough, this road turns sharply left and now follows the fjord outwards, until it ends blindly at a cluster of summer houses. Here, there is space for a small handful of cars. Here you will also find a drainage canal with a small bridge and boat moorings, as well as a municipal shelter with the most beautiful view of the fjord. From here, you can fish directly into the shipping channel through gaps in the dense reed belt – with a view of the islands at the mouth of Grund Fjord directly on the other side of the fjord.
