About this spot
Vig Naturpark is one of Vig’s larger nature-oriented recreational areas with many activity options. Vig Park has been developed and maintained over the years by volunteer associations in collaboration with the Municipality. These include Vig Tuske- og Kræmmermarked, Skønhed og Skrald, Vig Familieby, and the Merchants’ Association. This has resulted in plantings, paths, bridges, a barbecue area, playgrounds for both children and dogs, and viewing platforms, and not least a flea market every Wednesday and Saturday from April to October. The project is a continuation of work for ‘Life in the bog’ initiated by the local bog group. Vig Familieby became the project owner for further development of the initiative and received significant funding from Nordea Fonden’s ‘Here we grow pool’ and from Friluftsrådet. Urban Renewal in Vig also contributed content as a result of citizen involvement and a prioritization of more ‘Stay and Play in nature’. You can experience the results on your tour around Vig Naturpark, which now also features several gravel paths, wooden bridges, and platforms that bring you closer to nature in the bog. In forest clearings, you can walk your dog in the new dog forest or stay, barbecue food, and spend the night in shelters close to the lake.
