Årtoft Plantage

Årtoft Plantage is located north of Kliplev and is contiguous with Torp plantage to the north. The plantation covers approx. 210 hectares and originally stems from Årtoftgård, which belonged to Søgård estate. Årtoft Plantage was almost completely destroyed in the December hurricane of 1999, and most of the vegetation dates from after that time. There is a long barrow south of where Gablinie meets Plantagevej, as well as a stone-walled sheepfold by Kirkevej. Furthermore, old departmental stones from the German era are scattered throughout the plantation. Free tenting is allowed in the forest, meaning you may camp anywhere except in enclosures and on ancient monuments.
