About this spot
Parking: at Ørsbjerg Skovvej 21. The shelter at Klakkebjerg, Ørsbjerg is a traditional log shelter with space for 6 people. There is a toilet and water (closed in winter) approx. 150 m from the site at the scout camp on Ørsbjerg Skovvej (approx. 150 m east of the car park). It is possible to book the shelter at www.bookenshelter.dk for DKK 10/person/night. At the shelter, there is a fire pit with a grill grate. If there is firewood in the woodshed, you are welcome to use a limited amount of it. It costs DKK 20, which can be paid via MobilePay no. 878 119. Firewood is only occasionally provided, so if you want to be sure you can light a fire, please bring your own firewood. Naturally, no trees or bushes on the site may be cut down or trimmed. Be very aware of the condition of the area when using the fire pit, as the area can be very dry during periods throughout the summer. The area is owned by Det Danske Spejderkorps, and the shelter is operated jointly by the scout corps and Assens Kommune. There are marked trails in the area, and Brænde Å is one of Funen’s most beautiful streams and, at 28 km, it is West Funen’s longest stream. This beautiful and winding stream has its source near Tommerup Stationsby. From Aarup to Håre, the stream runs in some places through a 20-meter incised river valley. The river valley was created by meltwater from the end of the last ice age. The water rises up to 40 m over a stretch of 9 km. The stream has preserved its original course and winds beautifully through the river valley.
