About this spot
The primitive overnight site is nicely situated and surrounded by coniferous forest in the old gravel pit in the northeastern corner of Nørlund Plantage. The site consists of two small shelters with a campfire site, table and bench set, and a composting toilet. It is possible to pitch a couple of smaller tents on a grassy area next to the shelter site. There is space for 2-3 overnight guests in each shelter. Shelter 1 can be booked here on this page; shelter 2 is used on a first-come, first-served basis. You must bring your own water and firewood. It is permitted to collect branches from the forest floor for firewood, but trees must not be felled. The shelter site must be left tidy, and all waste must be taken out of the forest. Remember to extinguish the fire before you leave the shelter site! Directions to the site: From Road 185 between Ikast and Ejstrupholm, turn onto Grusgravvej, where parking is available. Follow Grusgravvej approx. 250 meters east/northeast and then south/southeast to the site. The shelter was built with support from A.P. Møller Fonden.
