About this spot
NOTE! It is only permitted to pitch a tent at established overnight sites on Møns Klint! Use our website www.udinaturen.dk, where you can see all overnight sites. It is not permitted to pitch a tent at the shelter site on Møns Klint due to preservation rules. Naturstyrelsen owns 510 hectares of forest and other natural areas on Østmøn. Møns Klint itself rises more than 120 m above the Baltic Sea, and it is crowned at the top by Klinteskoven, which primarily consists of beech forest. The chalk in the soil is the reason why wild orchids thrive particularly well in Klinteskoven. 18 different orchid species grow in the forest. Møns Klint holds many exciting fossils, which you might be lucky enough to find on the beach below the cliff - or you can visit GeoCenter Møns Klint, where the history of the cliff and the birth of Denmark is conveyed. The flowers on Østmøn are protected, so refrain from picking them.
