About this spot

Vilsted Sø 1, 9681 Ranum. At the site are two shelters; shelter 1 must be booked, the other is freely accessible on a “first-come, first-served” basis. A shelter booking must be utilized by 8:00 PM on the day of arrival. After that, the shelter becomes available on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Each shelter can accommodate 3 people, and overnight stays are allowed for a maximum of 2 nights. The campsite is freely accessible without reservation. Ranum Søhus is accessible for guests who want to see the exhibition about the lake or use the disability-friendly toilet. If Ranum Søhus is not in use in the evening, the house may be locked until approx. 8:00 AM the next day. The cycle path (the blue route) is passable for wheelchairs, but especially the trip from Vilsted (P8) to Ranum Søhus (P2) is a popular stretch. There is also disability-friendly access to the bird tower (P4) and wheelchair-friendly fishing spots on Holmen (P4). On the islet (P5), there are 2 shelters and a composting toilet. Closer to Vilsted town, we have established 2 shelters and a toilet. Here you can drive by car (P9), but you can also take the trip from Vilsted harbor (P8). The path surface is suitable for wheelchairs. Vilsted harbor (P8) is a fantastic place with rich birdlife and a beautiful view over the lake. In the kayak house, there is a packed lunch facility and a disability-friendly toilet. Vilsted Søgård offers horse rental with an instructor for disabled individuals. For sailors, there is access from Vilsted Lake with a hauling-out area by the lake at 514.744 E, 6305949 N, approx. 360 m via a disability-friendly path to the site. Access from Limfjorden via Bjørnsholm Å, but only during the period 23/6-31/12. The shelter was built with support from A.P. Møller Fonden. Vilsted Lake is approx. 450 hectares.
