About this spot
Surrounded by forest at the edge of Skanderborg Lake, a scenic shelter site is located in Junges Plantage. The site is suitable for school trips, but also for those on the road or waterway seeking a scenic place to stay overnight. It is also possible to pitch your own tent on the lawn. There is access to drinking water and a toilet. There is regularly wood at the site, but we cannot guarantee that wood will be available. If you want to ensure you have firewood for a bonfire, you must bring it yourself. Saws are available at the shelter. In the shelter, there are two sleeping cabins, each with space for 3 people. Here you will also find a lift for people with disabilities. There is a fire pit in this shelter. This shelter is booked as a whole. If you want to ensure an overnight stay in the shelter, it can be booked. You are always welcome to stay overnight in your own tent at the site, even if you have not booked. With a booking, you have priority for the booked activity. There are also 8 shelter cabins, each with space for 4 people (ideally 2 adults and 2 children). These are numbered and must be booked separately. It is only permitted to stay overnight for two consecutive nights. It is free to use the shelter and its associated facilities. There is also an open fire pit freely accessible to all (cannot be booked), and a fire hut without sleeping facilities, which also cannot be booked. Please note that the toilet and access to drinking water are closed from week 43 until approx. May 1st. From the shelter site, there is access to a jetty on Skanderborg Lake. At the jetty, a lift is available, making access to and from the lake possible for people with reduced mobility. At the jetty, there is a kayak bridge where kayaks can easily be launched and retrieved. At the end of the jetty, there is a kayak hotel with space for 20 kayaks.
