About this spot
The forest, together with Danstrup Hegn, covers approx. 500 ha and consists mostly of deciduous trees, including larger areas with open views under the canopies of beech trees. The terrain is a moraine landscape created after the last ice age. It is possible to see an example of a nature restoration project at Daverød Dam, east of Hornbækvej. Traces of both recent and older past can be found. Except during larger sports events, not many visitors frequent the forest. Many local dog clubs have been granted permission to train in specially selected areas. There is a campsite (Ravnebakken) with shelters in the eastern part of the forest (requires booking).
