About this spot

An exciting forest, totaling approximately 280 hectares, on the edge of the prominent landscape formation Bjerrelide. The forest is cut through by a series of ravines, making the terrain very hilly. In the middle of the forest lies the idyllic Elverdam, where a campfire site and picnic tables provide opportunities for relaxation. There is free fishing in Elverdam. At the southern end of the forest, there is a bird-watching tower at the forest edge with a view over Bjerre Engsø. An MTB route of approximately 9 km has been established in the forest, and there are also marked hiking trails, including around the natural forest and out to the restored Bjerre Engsø. Designated as a free camping forest.
